The excitement of the Olympic Games has ended for another four years, we will have to seek our gold, silver and bronze fixes elsewhere. The good news is that the NSW Printing Association are now calling for entries for the 2012 PICA Awards. Last year Watermarx took home Gold, Silver and Bronze in the specialty print category.
The Printing Industries Craftsmanship Awards (known as PICA) celebrate excellence in print, packaging and visual communication and recognise the special efforts of printers by awarding their best work. The Awards are committed to raising the bar for the Australian print industry and gaining international recognition for the fine work produced here.
The piece that claimed gold was a CD Wedding Invitation & Order of Service Cover printed on Superfine White Eggshell and Somerset 300 gsm supplied by BJ Ball Papers which was letterpress printed and embossed; Paspaley Invitations we printed for Black Communication on KW Doggetts Fine Paper’s Cambric Linen in silver foil, won silver; and The Style Co Wedding Invitations printed on 300gsm Somerset stock (supplied by Rossdale) letterpress printed and debossed.
Our winning pieces all engaged the use of CLIQX die systems for all of them. We will be entering again this year, so fingers crossed we’ll be able to add to our collection of medals!
