Wedding Invitations | The season is almost upon us and we’re busy bees here at the shop, helping bring to life some incredible collaborations between original brides, grooms and wedding planners, and their creatively-minded designers.
This beautifully-designed wedding stationery was digitally printed, then we foil stamped and letterpress debossed it with CLIQX. We mounted it, applied a dappled texture effect with CLIQX to the envelope (by now we’re sure you have heard that we are patterning digital stocks, YAY!) and sent it off to love, to the clever designers at Hawk Creative who really do give us some amazing jobs to work on!
For those who—just like us—have got the geeky letterpress bug or that love the luxurious press of cotton stock against their fingertips, or have always dreamed of their name alongside their future spouse’s in the shimmering lights of foil-stamping, we’d love to print your wedding invitations. It’s truly one of the most lovely parts of this gig as specialty commercial printers. What could be more special than the stationery that sends out the word that a pair is getting hitched? We love love, here at Watermarx Graphics, and we have been
We love love, here at Watermarx Graphics, and we have been nerding over paper, print and design for a loooooong time. We’ve got tricks and tips galore that can help you create truly unique wedding stationery that tells a story through the senses, without breaking the bank. We’re friendly, so don’t be shy.
Tips for couples and wedding planners organising their invitations:
Don’t leave printing to the last minute. We don’t mean to nag… but really, guys. It might take longer than you think, there are other jobs on the presses and all kinds of other variables. We do make miracles happen here, but we’re mere mortals after all. Why be stressing over this when there are plenty of other aspects of wedding planning you can get your knickers in a twist over!
Don’t start your plan with the paper. Have an overall vision and bounce it off us. We have great paper suppliers and have our mitts all over beautiful stocks all day. We know what paper works with which embellishments, so chances are, we’ll have a nifty suggestion for the stock that will bring to life your idea.
Be smart with colour. Many people don’t realise that with the art of letterpress printing, every different colour, requires a new pass through the machine. Reducing the colours you choose for letterpress printing will make a difference to the cost. If you have a colourful and complicated design, often it’s best to print this part digitally and then highlight elements or print the text with letterpress, or foil like we did for Hawk Creative on this job.
Happy wedding planning!
