weeks ago Watermarx Graphics were the lucky guests of BJ Ball / Mohawk Paper’s ‘Ball’ for their competition.
Entrants were required to make a short video which addressed the statement “paper is important to the design process because…” and that celebrates paper and creativity.
The prize was a major drawcard, with entrants going into the running to win:
- Two return economy class flights to New York from any Australian capital city or Auckland, New Zealand
- Four nights accommodation in Manhattan.
- A day trip to Mohawk Paper Mill in New York.
- A visit with the team at Pentagram, the world famous design agency, and
- US $1000 spending money.
The prize went to Cloud White, with plenty of notable mentions getting up on stage to claim their trophy (which, from where we stood up the back, appeared to be a giant ball. ) Guests were treated to authentic Yankee hotdogs and popcorn, as well as the opportunity to make our own film using a green screen backdrop.
The night was a brilliant celebration of the industry’s passion for quality paper. Watermarx has always had a soft spot for BJ Ball and Mohawk stocks and have printed some of our favourite jobs on Ecostar and boxboard.
